Connecticut Distilleries & Spirits Producers
I am not a big booze drinker. I go months on end without touching hard alcohol. But… here we are, on my page listing all of Connecticut’s distilleries and spirits producers. Granted, there aren’t that many and of those, very few actually have a distillery on premises.
In 2013, Connecticut passed a bill to allow for tours and tastings at distilleries, but to get a fully operational one off the ground often takes years and a lot of money. As a result, a lot of those listed below have 95% corn ethanol shipped in at which point they water it down (vodka) or add botanicals (gin) or throw it in a used bourbon barrel (whiskey). Due to the deliberately obfuscating verbiage required on bottles, it’s sometimes tough to know which places are doing what. But we’ll figure it out together.

Can you contact these distilleries and others to see if the can make some alcohol to distribute as hand sanitizers as Litchfield Distillery has? See:

December 19, 2024 at 11:09 amWhite Hills – Recommended – Grandson of an actual Bootlegger and family owns a Cider Mill with EXCEPTIONAL cider donuts. Had a bar on site but open only until Christmas, then they take a break for a few months. Live Music, cool outdoor seating and right down the road from Jones Farms (Winery)
Mine Hill – Recommended – In an old Train Depot has a great setting and is off the beaten track. GOOD Bourbon there. Free Tastings. Great place for a Date. Technically down the road from Kent Falls Brewery (if you have a 4×4 and aren’t scared of unpaved roads. Quite a fun drive if you take the “Avoid normal roads” setting on your GPS
CT Distillery – Unknown – Went there before they were purchased. INTERESTING Liquor – most distilled from Beers then. RIght next door to a decent brewery so you can do a two fro one. Near Hindsight BBQ which MAY be the best BBQ in CT.
