Redding’s Town Trails
Hoo boy, Redding has not made this easy on me. In the past, one had to go to Redding and find Redding’s “Book of Trails” in order to have any clue where to hike. In 2019, the town/land trust put the book online, making my life much easier. (This, after driving out there to buy one… a few weeks before some kind soul mailed me one.)
Even so, Redding’s roads are difficult to navigate and the trails are all sort of interconnected in very confusing ways. I’ve done my best to parse which are town (below) and which are land trust (over here) – which are all intermixed with state land and CFPA trails and Audubon Society Trails and Nature Conservancy trails… phew. In other words, Redding is pretty awesome.

Hiker Tom says
March 5, 2021 at 7:40 pmThe town and land trust properties and their trails all intertwine, so it’s best to think of them as one organization. From a hiker perspective, ownership is not the issue. Saugatuck Falls is definitely the destination area area, although all are working hiking at least once. Check out my guide: https://westrocktrails.blogspot.com/p/version1.html
